The new manga, following Erefante's previous Manga Diary of a Male Porn Star , is set in the Reiwa era. It follows Kaeru, who is now in his forties, divorced, and still single, but is now juggling three jobs. Kaeru tries to survive being a company employee, a porn star, and a manga artist, all at once.
Kaeruno launched the Manga Diary of a Male Porn Star ( AV Danyū Hajimemashita ) manga on Shinchosha 's Kurage Bunch website in January 2020. The manga ended with its 12th compiled book volume, which shipped on October 8. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga, and is releasing it under its Ghost Ship imprint. Seven Seas released the manga's fifth volume in March 2024. Kaeruno Erefante (a pseudonym) describes the manga as based on his real-life experiences as a male porn actor in over 250 adult videos.
