New awards event to take place at SGC Hall Ariake on November 21, 2027
The Tokyo Anime Next event at Tokyo Tatemono Brillia Hall announced on Monday the new "Nippon Anime Awards" event, which will take place at SGC Hall Ariake on November 21, 2027.

The event's vision is to "create a timeless anime award that represents Japan and stands the test of time, marking the first step toward that future."
The Association of Japanese Animations (AJA) is organizing the new event.
The special one-time Tokyo Anime Next event took place in Tokyo from October 30-November 2.
The Tokyo Anime Award Festival (TAAF) announced in September that it had concluded its events as of last March. TAAF 2026 took place from March 13-16.
TAAF launched in 2014 as an independent festival and has had 13 iterations. It was an evolution of the Tokyo Anime Award, which was part of the Tokyo International Anime Fair from 2002-2013.
